A man in Bee Cave, Texas was killed after an 18-wheeler dump truck fell on him. Authorities responded to the accident in McKay Cove, where a dump truck unloading dirt tipped over, falling on a man in his 40s standing next to the truck.

According to Kristen Dark, spokesperson for the Travis County Sheriff’s Office, the back of the truck was extended and releasing its load, but somehow lost its balance, causing the truck to tip over. It’s a tragic freak accident that not only killed the man standing next to the truck, but also injured the truck’s driver, who was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The accident occurred in the Sweetwater subdivision, which currently has several homes in construction. The area where the accident happened has a number of homes being built by Perry Homes. A representative for the company said that the death did not involve Perry Homes, or their employees, in any way. The construction accident is currently under investigation by Texas Department of Public Safety officials.
