A man was killed after a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 190 near the G. Wilson overpass in Belton. According to investigators, a motorcycle rider crashed into the rear end of a van that was beginning to slow down for traffic.

The collision caused the rider to fall off his motorcycle, putting him in the direct path of an incoming 18-wheeler truck, which ended up running over the rider and his motorcycle. The man was declared dead at the scene of the accident. The drivers of the van and heavy truck did not sustain any injuries.

Accidents like these highlight how motorcycle accidents are often worse than regular car accidents, usually resulting in more severe injuries, or worse, death. Those fortunate enough to walk away with alive often have to deal with a pile of medical bills.
